Sbwriel a Sbri

The litter picking group meet whenever they can to tidy up the area according to need. They co-ordinate with Keep Wales Tidy who have supplied them with equipment and offer advice and general support. If you would like to get involved, please get in touch with the Clerk.

Big community field developments

Last year the community field was opened to the public and we now need to get feedback on its use and make plans for further developments.

We want to create safe outdoor play and exercise opportunities for all age groups but need your help and ideas.

The cost of mowing is £2000 each year which is paid by Llanbrynmair Wind Farm Trust. Occasionally other grant funds become available and in order to apply for them we need to demonstrate community involvement and initiative.

Please would you help by filling in the questionnaire on this link and return to Jo's shop or to Sarah, the Clerk (contact details on the contact page)? Please bear in mind that the field has to be cleared every year for the show to take place so permanent structures cannot be installed except at the outside edges.

Benches and bins 

The Wind Farm Trust has been buying one or two benches every year to put around the area where residents have asked for a seating spot. Here is the latest one in Dolfach. We will now be using the same fund to buy new salt/grit bins, one each year according to need. Here is the first one in Glanclegyr, we are experimenting with this coal bunker style bin to see if it is easier to dig out of than the usual grit bins.

A470 closure from the 20th of January for 12 weeks

Audit Wales have completed their audit of the Council's 2023-24 accounts and they are available for viewing.

Llanbrynmair show

After a few years of being sorely missed, Llanbrynmair Show was back big time this year. A fantastic variety of displays, activities and characters with superb weather thrown in.

Tractor run

Llanbrynmair tractor run, 22nd August 2021 in memory of Eleri Evans, proceeds went to the Bronglais Adult Diabetes Team. 25 miles in glorious sunshine via Darowen and Commins Coch.

Llanbrynmair Show

September 2018 - Llanbrynmair Show, highlight of the year with the usual variety; vegetables, dogs, costumes, cycling, runing and shearing.

5th June 2018

The parents and children have been very busy in the play park building, filling and planting some raised beds. A big thank you to Ben Davies for the soil, to the Police Benevolent Fund for the garden shed and to Nicky Arscott for organising it all. They have big plans for this commuity garden so watch this space.

Llanbrynmair map 1841

Cllr Emyr Lewis has kindly lent Llanbrynmair Council this amazing map of Llanbrynmair dated 1841 to put on a wall in the Community Centre hall for all to see. It is currently at the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth undergoing conservation and renovation work before being mounted and covered for safe display. This work will be funded by the Windfarm Trust.

10th April 2018

We would like to say a big and sincere thank you to Powys County Council, local farmers and residents for all the help given during the days of heavy snow. Everyone's great effort meant that our roads were cleared pretty swiftly under the circumstances and there were many acts of kindness to help those less able to get about.
